Slovak dear friends,
65 years ago, on Feb. 02. 1950,
the leaders of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (current Socialist
Republic of Vietnam) and the Czechoslovak Republic (the current Slovak
Republic and the Czech Republic) have announced the establishment of
diplomatic ties between the two countries. The move was an important milestone in the history of relations between the two countries and peoples. We, the Vietnamese often say: "When you drink water, you Think back to the source!". Always we remember and appreciate friendship, noble and selfless help
from Slovak friends that you have given us at all times of heavy
fighting in defense of the country as well as during the construction of
a new Vietnam.
As
Vietnamese Ambassador to Slovakia, I was excited to find that over the
past 65 years solidarity and true friendship between the two countries
are continuously maintained and strengthened. Friendship
Tree, which planted the leaders and citizens of both countries, have
brought a pleasant shade and sweet fruits for both countries. So
far, Slovakia has had a number of investment projects in Vietnam with
an investment volume of hundreds of millions of dollars. In 2014, the company FPT is the first Vietnamese company that opened its branch in Košice and created hundreds of jobs there. Trade between us has amounted to more than 1.2 billion. USD and continues to grow. Slovakia has helped Vietnam train thousands of engineers, specialists and workers in different sectors. Vietnam
is a considerable community of Vietnamese-speaking Slovak, some of
which are very successful in government and in business. Niekoľkotisícová community of Vietnamese people have long settled in
Slovakia, found here their second home and becomes a bridge that
connects the Vietnamese and Slovak nation.
I
am convinced that the solid foundation of our traditional friendship,
we are facing plenty of opportunities for new cooperation in various
fields. In
his position to make every effort to come and I believe that I will get
strong support from the Slovak friends, so that together further
strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries for
prosperity Vietnamese and Slovak people, and contributed to peace,
stability and common development in the world.
